San Antonio Spurs announce 2025-26 schedule

The San Antonio Spurs have slowly been gaining hype all offseason. With a fully healthy Victor Wembanyama, returning Rookie of the Year, Stephon Castle, newly extended guard De’Aaron Fox, and new additions like Dylan Harper and Luke Kornet, many have pegged the Spurs as a playoff team. The release of the team’s 2025-26 schedule would indicate that the league and it’s broadcast partners agree.

The Spurs will play 22 of their 82 games on national TV this season. They’ll start with the opening game of the year in Dallas against Cooper Flagg and the Mavericks on ESPN. They’ll appear on some streaming platforms this season thanks to the league’s new broadcast deal. San Antonio will play the Houston Rockets on Amazon Prime on November 7th. They’ll take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Peacock on December 8th. You’ll be able to catch their Christmas Day matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder on ABC, and the Cleveland Cavaliers on NBC.

San Antonio starts the season with a relatively light stretch. They face the Pelicans twice in the first 10 games, and play weaker Eastern Conference opponents like the Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, and Toronto Raptors. There is a good chance the Spurs can start the season several games above .500.

In what will likely be a competitive Western Conference, the Spurs will likely be jockeying for a higher seeding even in the season’s closing weeks. The back end of the season is filled with tough matchups with teams like the Mavs, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors, and Milwaukee Bucks. Matchups with the Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies in March could have major ramifications on their playoff standings.

Once again, the Spurs will play two games in Austin at the Moody Center. They’ll face the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings on February 19th and 21st. San Antonio will have 12 back-to-back matchups over the course of the season.

San Antonio has a chance to return to the playoffs for the first time in six seasons. Time will tell if their schedule will help them on their journey back to the playoffs. We’ll know more about the strength of their schedule in a week or so.

Training camp will begin for the Spurs on September 24th. Their first preseason game will be on Monday, October 6th, against the Guangzhou Loong Lions.
